Dec 15, 2022

We worked with community ambassadors and health experts to create a range of new resources including a web-series, information sheets and community conversations.

On the Take Up Space website you will find resources to:

  • Learn how to take care of your mental health
  • Learn to prioritise your own positive sexual wellbeing
  • Learn about consent
  • Develop the skills and awareness to maintain healthy relationships with friends, family, colleagues, the community – and yourself
  • Develop your career

What is Take Up Space?

Take Up Space is a project by GenWest for young migrant, refugee and LGBTIQA+ communities in Melbourne’s west.

Through the project, we support young people to feel safe to be themselves and encourage you to take up space online and, in your communities.

Visit the Take Up Space website to find out more.

Looking for more resources and information?

The Consent, Empowerment and Respect campaign has been developed to provide young folks in Melbourne’s west with information about their sexual and reproductive health.

This campaign encourages people to be actively involved in their sexual and reproductive health by being informed, making their own choices and taking ownership of their body, their health and their wellbeing.

The campaign has a range of different resources that are designed to communicate that sexual and reproductive health and all that comes with it, such as pleasure, periods, sex and using contraception are not things to be ashamed or embarrassed of.

Download the Consent, Empowerment and Respect resources and share with your friends and young folks in your lives.
